I have the tools to do the eggs but not the patience or talent. I had an uncle who was Russian Orthodox and he taught his kids (my cousins) how to make beautiful eggs. My nut roll recipe was from his church but I've altered it a bit over the years. It called for "potato water" and it was too difficult to make it when I needed to make 100 rolls. I substituted milk and changed the ratios a bit so I could make the dough in my Kitchenaid mixer.

Oh wondrous 'chef of the future' that you are.

One of these days I'll sit down and start painting my wooden eggs, though I do have a few blown eggs to work on as well. There's a tool I need to hold the eggs in place and allows you to rotate them while painting but I need to save up for it. Not high on my list of priorities right now.
