I'm afraid I never had an attraction to NS either - but in watching the DVDs I have a new appreciation for his character and for RV's acting. My close 2nd for a date would be Mark Slate - I was almost as much in love with him as with IK during the original runs. However, I would want the dates to be with my 26-year-old self, not my pre-teen or current 60ish self. Since we're imagining, anyway, I can make that happen!

I am not smitten with NS, but I have to say he's got the whole romantic evening pretty well scripted. Sometimes that's the perfect date. Kuryakin is my daytime, getting to know you choice... always. And daytime leads to nighttime... you get the idea ;)

I don't watch the show on the oldies channel because they run it at midnight and I work for a living. Thank goodness I splurged on the complete DVD set.

I imagine that he would view it as a way to recruit more agents, a sort of "professional date" yet not prostitution.

Yes, that does make more sense of why he often asked the Innocent out after a mission. (Well, with ones like Cricket Okasada in Cherry Blossom. I think she would have made a good agent. With a couple of the others, maybe he just planed to lecture them on why dating his agents was a really, really bad idea.)

I'm not quite sure what the difference is between finding canon "Very Important" and "Wanting things to feel like the original, etc." I chose the former, but given my backstories for the characters, I wonder if I should have chosen the latter. Hmm.

I was iffy on that question too. I consider canon to be important. Very important. I do want readers to get a sense of the show. Nonetheless some things are negotiable.

That one is a little vague I suppose. However, I think a story can be based on canon but still lack the ambiance and message of the original concept. On the other hand, you can write a story with all the angles firmly intact and allude to the canon behind it without spitting it out verbatim.
It may still be vague, but thanks for answering anyway ;)

Hey, the heart wants what it wants. I'm usually attracted to darker types, but IK hit something in my little girl heart that just kept pace with me as I grew up. Fun is not be overlooked however ;)
