Great Episode Challenge for April 2017
Apr. 7th, 2017 08:00 am
Back by popular demand, it’s The Great Episode Challenge.
This monthly challenge will present two prompts drawn from a single episode, allowing you to explore unresolved scenes, unanswered questions, and uncertain motivations.
So here we go.
In New York City, on a street in the East Forties, there’s an ordinary tailor shop. Or is it ordinary?
Episode: The Mad, Mad Tea Party Affair

Prompt 1: As they discuss giving Kay Lorrison the Jekyll-Hyde routine, Illya says to Napoleon, “You haven’t played the villain for a long time.” So the questions arise…When was the last time Napoleon played the villain? Why has it been so long? Is it really that Illya is so much better at it? Did it not go so well the last time Napoleon took the role of the heavy?
Prompt 2: Kay Lorrison is about to marry Walter, in her words a “teddy bear” and “a very nice, dull, safe guy.” At her disappearance, her teddy bear turns into a “wild grizzly.” The questions…What happens to Kay and Walter? What explanation does she give him? Does she still marry him? Does she go back to work at the store or does she try for the job in the “chrome and gunmetal madhouse” that she asked about?
Inquiring minds want to know.
For the challenge, write a story inspired by one of the prompts. If you have already written a story that addresses any of these questions, please repost it.
Section VII is a Gen & Gen-mature site. Stories that are Het, long-term romance & AU can be posted in the Map Room. All other genres post in UNCLE du Jour.
