Rulers who neither see, nor feel, nor know,

They were running for their lives in the Belgian Congo, as the ruling forces had changed places, and UNCLE was no longer welcome.  The former prime minister had been deposed and sent to Katanga.

Napoleon and Illya followed, on board a lorry, in hopes of sneaking past the checkpoints.

An army, which liberticide and prey

The soldiers and the fighting were brutal, bodies were scattered everywhere, women and childrens as well, murdered because they were of the wrong tribe.

And nothing could be done...

Still the agents managed to survive, trekking through the jungle,  once free of Kantanga, crossing the border to Zambia.

A Senate, Time's worst statute unrepealed,--

A pickup was arranged via land line, with a chopper arriving in hours.

Revolutions are usually bloody,” Illya said, obviously shaken, “but not like this.”

“Hopefully they won’t happen anymore someday tovarisch, and things will be resolved peacefully.

“You are ever the optimist Napoleon,” Illya shook his head, still angered.

MFU fans may find this tidbit from the August 25th entries on Row Three interesting.

It actually has to do with Guy Ritchie being tagged by Warner Bros. for the film project EMPIRE RISING. However, there is an oblique reference to the upcoming THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. movie that definitely suggests WB expects the director's current focus to be on MFU.

Ritchie’s current project is also a Warner Bros. feature and filming for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. has yet to commence. It looks like filming for Empire Rising will begin only after the spy series hits theatres next year. Warner Bros. obviously has a lot of faith in Ritchie’s ability and his talent at keeping the box office hits coming.

Note that sentence about the new (and I might highly touted) project only beginning filming "after the spy series hits theatres next year"...

Oh, and filming for the new MFU supposedly commences September 7th in London and Italy, according to the latest report.

Napoleon and Illya sat shivering,catching their breath after their escape from the flooded cavern.

A shot rang out from the Inn near by. The agents scrambled for cover behind the stone wall of a barn.

“I’ll teach you to defile my daughter!” Screamed the inn keeper, firing another volley.

“Defiled his daughter?” Illya looked towards his partner, “Napoleon, tell me you did not?”

“Personally, I wouldn’t say defiled.”

The Russian shook his head in dismay.

Just then, the woman in question appeared from a concealed doorway in the barn, beckoning the agents.

“I can help you escape from here, follow me”

A Little Drabble Do Ya: Male Eggs, A Sugar & Spies Drabble

Leona and Napoleon were lying on the couch watching television when Illya came home from work. “Why are you two lazing about on a beautiful Saturday afternoon?”

The three year old ran to Papa and said as he picked her up, “Daddy has male eggs, so I’m keeping him company. I think he needs cookies and milk.”

Illya’s eyebrows shot skyward. “Napoleon?”

“Malaise is what I said. I’m with my favorite nurse; I’ll be fine. Right, Leona?”

“Right!”

“I will bring cookies and milk for us all. Stay with Daddy.”

“Thanks, Partner Mine. You are the best.”

“You are welcome.”

The timer was counting down faster than Napoleon could unfasten the ropes that held his partner.
“Just go, Napoleon! Take the microdot and get out of here.”
That did little to slow down Solo’s efforts.
14…13…12…
“You’re coming with me, you stubborn Bolshevik.  I’ll get this…”
11…10…9…
The fibers gave way, shredding like straw as Illya tore at them in his haste to get away from the bomb.

Out the door and down the hall they ran as though being chased by the devil.

There was a door leading outside.  No one stood in the way.
