Hey it's almost the last hurrah before the kids or grandkids head back to school....but it's not the last hurrah for our brave Men from UNCLE!

Time to give a shout out for your favorite author's story or one that you're written.  Post a link here, but please remember we're a gen site, so appropriate links please.

This piece was written for a little challenge early on in my MFU writing days, something called the Crayon Challenge.  Uncle Charlie, aka[livejournal.com profile] spikesgirl58 suggested it over on ff.net, and we both have several little stories related to this.
I was in the throes of being infatuated with this song by George Harrison, and since it has as a title my favorite Crayola color, Midnight Blue, I couldn't resist a story based on its mysterious, angsty lyrics.  Listen to the music first (and enjoy the beautiful George), and then read the Russian version ;)
My other Crayola stories are:
Sea Greened
A Fine Feathered Friend

This is my longest fic to date, of rather epic proportions @ 113,000+ words. It literally drained me and I wasn't able to write for quite awhile after completing it. It's part of my AU series in which Illya is married with a family, though that is just a small part of the story.   This particular fic became a labor of love to me and I hope you enjoy it.  (comments are most welcome!)

The Summary: Given guarantees, Illya accepts a mission to the USSR, helping the CIA move a defector from the city of Gorky to the U.S.  There he meets with unexpected complications. Illya must deal with childhood memories, memories of the war, a long-lost half-brother; all dredged up after an unexpected visit to Kiev....his first time back there since the war.  He's in for a lot of surprises on this mission. Holocaust references. Sequel to 'The Sins of Our Fathers Affair." Both are rated gen-mature. (and please pardon and errors in grammar and spelling...still need to get back to correct some things)

I'm providing the link to "The Sins of the Father" which should really be read before Dancing in the Dark

I originally wrote this for the HODOWE: May Day Story Challenge.  The mood I was after was bleak with a ray of hope in this look back at a major turning point in the life of Illya.

Way back in the mists of time (well, April of this year), I wrote my first MFU story. I thought it was earlier than that, but it's only been four months. Anyhow, even though it's very recent, I thought it could do with another airing.

I'm fairly proud of it because, even though I've loved MFU for almost thirty years, it had slipped from my consciousness for a long time. I re-discovered my love at the beginning of the year and haven't looked back. It's been fun re-watching what I'd forgotten, and catching up on the vast wealth of MFU fics there are out there.

I've wanted to post something here for the longest time but it took a while to get my stories into an archive.

This was my very first story, so I'm kind of proud of it. The story was meant to be another look at Illya. Lots of writers portray him as cold and and non feeling. That wasn't the Illya I saw in the series.

So, without further ado...

Talking it Out

Why I Like It:  I've written several stories about dreams. This story takes place sometime after "The Gurnius Affair."  The link takes you to AO3.
