Solo and Kuryakin were a team in the truest sense of the word. At times they found no need to say anything to each other; they just seemed to know what the other was thinking and would act accordingly.

Most paired agents seemed to develop that sort of rapport, but with these two it went beyond intuitiveness. Theirs was a deep friendship and not just a partnership..

Napoleon was the strategist,  often coming up with his plans by the seat of his pants; still, the man was brilliant.

Illya was the one who took those plans and ran with them. His was more a bull in a china shop approach.

That may be just a little much because I've been around just enough to keep tabs.  I've been working on my house in the midst of what my cousin Luther calls Vietnam Weather.  Translated, that means really hot, unbearably humid.
I've also had company, a friend from California who is on a very long road trip that will be about 3 months in its entirety by the time she gets back home.  My brother is due Wednesday, as is a rambling cousin on her way back to Florida.
And that's why I haven't posted much or read much or... been on duty, so to speak.
Y'all are awesome though, carrying on and writing and reading and commenting... you make me proud.

Napoleon Solo was contemplating his birthday, at least the expectation of his next birthday.  It was a few months away still, but he would be thirty years old, a milestone for any young man but for an UNCLE agent… geesh, it meant he only had ten years left in the field.

“Good morning, Olivia,” Napoleon enthused as he leaned in for his badge. “Are you still free for our date tonight?”

“Of course,” the blonde replied, pinning the badge on and handing Illya his. “I’ll even wear that purple dress you like.”

“Even better,” Solo answered, with a wink.

Prompt word - policy,
Prompt colour, purple
Word Count - 32 too many. Sorry.

Napoleon stared at the kid behind the desk. "What do you mean I can't go in?" he asked blankly. "There's got to be some mistake here, you said yourself we were expected."

"Um." The kid squirmed nervously. "I'm sorry, Mr Solo, there was an issue with your background check, and it's standard policy in these cases to conduct deeper checks. I'm going to need you to wait."

"My background check?" Napoleon repeated incredulously. "What do the FBI have against my background all of a sudden?"
