Challenge # 1:
In season one’s “The Girls of Nazarone Affair,” Napoleon and Illya give the Innocent, Livinia Brown, $25,000 to “throw around” to attract the attention of Dr. Egret aka Madame Strygor.  In today’s dollars, that is the equivalent of $189, 977! They also made it clear that the money and whatever she bought with it was hers to keep.  It seemed like money was no object when it came to completing their mission.

Do you think when they submitted their mission report, Mr. Waverly just signed off on it as “business as usual” or did they have some ‘splaining (explaining) to do?  Do you think all of the Section II agents had access to that kind of cash or were they able to get it because Napoleon is CEA and half of UNCLE’s top team? The challenge is to write a story that addresses the use of expense accounts.

Challenge # 2:
In season three’s “The Jingle Bells Affair,” there wasn’t a lot of the silliness that marked what many see as MFU’s worst season.  What is there is a nod to the holidays in New York City; the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Macy’s Department Store, and the Salvation Army. We even had the Khrushchev – like Georgi Koz dressed up like Santa Claus and bringing cheer and hope to a small boy who, oddly, had a mother, but seemed to live in the Salvation Army’s orphanage.

The challenge here is to take any or all of the characters in this episode and write a Christmas story.

By all means, if you have already written a story that addresses either challenge, please repost it!

As with any Challenge, there are rules.  Here's the rules for this one:

The rules... )Happy writing!

So the gossip machine gains a lot of its information when people gather at the water cooler and discuss what's been circulating around the office, or in our case, UNCLE HQ.
The Party is, for our purposes, like one of our stories.  It's fiction, it's  open to everyone to enjoy and, if you like, even write its events.  Feel free to post a story rec from the numerous MFU Christmas party stories out there or submit a new one.  Write us a Christmas party and  post it on December 10.  We don't have a lot of rules, it's all in fun and the pursuit of Good Cheer.
The gossip trail starts wherever you want it to.  Who's going? Who is escorting Miss Dancer?  Will Mr. Waverly be there with his wife?  Does he have a wife? Does Mr. Kuryakin have a wife?
Fanfiction is nothing if not fodder for the gossip mill.

In trying to get out of my dark mood I went searching my fics and found this story written quite a few years ago as part of my Snapshot series. Not sure it was ever posted here on LJ.  I reworked it a bit, pulling it into the holiday spirit, but what really inspired me to redo this little piece was a photo manip by our dear Svetlanacat, it's one of my favorites by her. Missing her a lot.

Things had been very quiet for the past week at UNCLE headquarters, nothing on the radar that required the presence of  Napoleon Solo or Illya Kuryakin.  There were plenty of Section II agents in the field, and ready to step up to the plate if needed.

Wanda and a few of the ladies were clustered together by their usual spot at the water cooler located in the Commissary.

"So who are you going with to the Christmas party? She asked the girls.

"Oh one of the guys from Security..." Yolanda sighed.

"I know who I'll be going with after the party," Mitzy giggled.

"Oh shut up Mitz, we already know you have a date with Napoleon," Wanda snapped.

"Wait...I have a date with him too,"Valerie chimed in.

"Hey, what's going on? So do I," Candace moaned.

"Girls don't you get it?"Wanda laughed," Solo is setting you up for a menage et trois."

"What's that?"'Mitzy asked."Isn't it a restaurant? I thought that's what he meant when he mentioned it to me, I figured it was for a private party." Mitzy was looking confused now.

"Girl if you need to ask, then you shouldn't be dating Napoleon," Wanda laughed.

The others laughed. "Yeah, a party all right."

Sonja a petite blonde new to the office finally spoke up. "I think Illya's a dream, don't you?"

"Honey, he rarely dates anyone in headquarters, so give up any ideas you have about that," Wanda said. "We'd all give our eye teeth for some time alone with Kuryakin."

"But he's married isn't he?" Sonja said." He's wearing a wedding ring right?"

The women all became quiet, looking at each other and shrugging. "Is he?" Wanda smiled. "What do you think?"
