These prompts are for the first stories of October! Can you believe that? I think that a lot of fun can be had with words picked for stories due on 2nd October 2017. You'll find the prompts, and the challenge rules, down below the cut.

To join in with today's postings just follow this link for the prompts you need.

Remember, Section VII is a Gen site, but stories which are Het, Long-term Romance or AU can be posted in mfu_map_room.

Posting directly to Section VII is still fine but, if you wish, you can post your story elsewhere and provide a link. Please say where the link leads as a lot of people are unwilling to go to certain sites. Don't forget, Section VII and the Map Room are both available on Dreamwidth, for those of you who can figure it out (Just let us know if you posted there).

Other events on Section VII:

Fridays:  Glennagirl, our fearless leader posts the Reading Room which is her personal reading recommendations. (on Hiatus at present)

On Saturdays we have the Writer’s Choice! hosted by mrua7. This is an opportunity for writers  to rec. their own stories and readers to rec. stories by their favorite authors.

The Sunday round table discussion is on a brief hiatus. At the moment Glenna is hosting Sunday Pictorials...last one was of Illya disrobing in The Pop Art Affair...sigh

Periodically Glennagirl posts a poll with some rather intriguing questions to answer, and also from time to time we have a Round-Robin writing challenge.

We plan to have an event the week before Halloween, so keep your eyes open for that.

The 50th Anniversary of the end of the MFU TV Show challenge will be coming up December-January. Glenna will post details down the line.  It will be hosted on AO3 and is open to all genres.

A mid-autumn night’s dream?

When the child, Maeve, was sent to bed, the two agents were able to talk a little more freely to her mother. They planned to walk up the glen in the morning – appearing to do a circuit of the mountain, but actually to stalk some members of the Thrush family.

In autumn, it wasn’t wise to leave it too late to get back, and get caught in the total darkness of a Scottish mountainside, Kate warned them. She talked about sandwiches and flasks, socks and boots, waterproofs, and the best route to take for a wonderful view, “as long as the mist doesn’t come down,” which was all too probable at this time of year.

They were politely agreeing to all this, when there was a strange noise from upstairs. A door slamming? Something falling?

Okay, here's a little something extra for all of us to think about.  Take a look at the weekly calendar HERE
We have something called the Sunday Pictorial happening, and this week I'm giving you the inspiration (or we can call them prompts), for creating your own pictorial.  Now, make it all visuals or write a story based on one or more of these.  I'll admit it's primarily an Illya-centric selection, but that doesn't mean you can't find corresponding Napoleon pics to utilize in your own pictorial/stories.
The IK pictures are sort of dark, except for the one gorgeous color face... THUD!  Oh yeah, I'm in that kind of mood.
