The Unified Northern Casualty and Liability Exchange proudly presents The Great Episode Challenge.
This monthly challenge includes two prompts drawn from a single episode, allowing you to explore unresolved scenes, unanswered questions, and uncertain motivations.
And now for tonight's program.
In New York City, on a street in the East Forties, there’s an ordinary tailor shop. Or is it ordinary?
Episode: The Deadly Decoy Affair

Prompt 1: The discovery that Paul Westcott is an UNCLE agent and not a Thrush bigwig doesn’t improve Napoleon's opinion of him. “To put it bluntly, I wish you would stop acting obnoxious,” Napoleon tells him. Paul replies, “Stop? Well, Solo, I could no more stop breathing.” So the questions arise…What if Napoleon and Illya are assigned to work with Paul again? What is Paul like as an agent when he’s not undercover? Will Napoleon find him just as obnoxious? Will Paul still be as critical of their methods?
Prompt 2: Thrush attacks the group on the train, and Illya stays behind to cover the others’ escape. When we next see him, he's at the hospital with Mr. Waverly, having safely delivered the real Stryker to the CIA. Their unseen adventure could practically be its own episode. The questions…How did it all play out? How did Illya join up with wily Waverly and his armored car? Did Waverly karate chop through the Thrush “pressure” all the way to D.C.?
Inquiring minds want to know.
For the challenge, write a story inspired by one of the prompts. If you have already written a story that addresses any of these questions, please repost it.
Section VII is a Gen & Gen-mature site. Stories that are Het, long-term romance & AU can be posted in the Map Room. All other genres post in UNCLE du Jour.

Date: 2017-05-20 01:13 pm (UTC)I have the DVDs too, and I find the episode lists in the inserts hard to read. Tiny dark text on dark background. Whose idea was that?
Of course, it might help if I broke down and finally got glasses. :D
