We do apprecite your giving us these timely details about music and news. And the scene where Illya is just winning is well thought.

I can just imagine the atmosphere of chaos within UNCLE headquarters especially in reality no one immediately knew the cause of the blackout. Believable story!!

I was thirteen and lived in Connecticut. I was in the basement feeding the dogs when the lights went out and my mother called out wanting to know what I had done...lol. Dad worked in NYC and was on the subway. Fortunately, when the blackout began his train was already at a station. He got off, hailed a taxi and paid the driver to take him all the way home to Darien. He invited the cabby in for a bite to eat and a drink, tipped the guy handsomely and the cabby was on his way back to his home. Dad wanted to get home post haste in case the blackout was due to an attack by the Soviet Union.

I can well imagine that such a massive blackout, a such a politically sensitive time, would be a concern. It probably panicked quite a few people. I love the way you set the scene, with the music slowing down on the radio. And poor Napoleon. It will take him ages to get back.

(ps. is it true that in August '66 there was a baby boom in the areas affected by the blackout? LOL)
