My muse has been gone so long that I thought she was dead. Then the combination of reminiscing with an old friend about the good old days at the library and reading some MfU fic, suddenly revived her. Not sure that was a good thing.

Anyway, I posted the resulting story at the MfU Fan Fiction Archive at http://www.mfuarchive.net/archive/6/aquiet.html if anyone is feeling brave.

The readers think it was a good thing. Thanks for this solid and enjoyable story.(Lucky he didn't try our library, with its slowww door; though I'm sure our librarians would have helped.)

Oh, this is hilarious and brings back memories of my past life working in a small branch library here in York in the 70s. Not quite as exciting - guns are as rare as hens' teeth in this part of the world - but one Saturday morning (early) one old man came in and was reading quietly in a corner when his ancient friend came in and spotted him. They then held a mock "High Noon" across me - just fingers, not guns - I was in fits. One day I'll tell you about when someone got stuck in a revolving door with an umbrella and an annoyed girl.

I described the episode in a letter to my parents, so if I can find it (it happened some time ago in Cambridge University Library) I might post it to the Canteen.

Yay, I'm so glad you had a Muse Moment. I haven't read it yet but look forward to doing so.
