IT's been a while since we had a Round Table discussion, and since not much else is going on I thought today would work for a review of Foxes and Hounds and all of the sexual tension... whatever we choose to call it.

This scene has always struck me as being slightly flirtatious.  It is groundbreaking for the era, and I always see Illya being attracted to this lovely African American woman.  Was it staged for that purpose, or did David McCallum just play it that way? Or does anyone else see it?

THE KISS
foxes183.jpgOkay, Illya has her, he's drawing her in and she's anticipating the kiss or something (seriously, how does she not just dive in?)
But then it's Napoleon with the major liplock for which he was apparently known among the actresses.
Question: Why does Napoleon take her away from Illya?

I think given Napoleon's sexual prowess (for which he's well known) that gives him a bit of an ego, and perhaps he thought his partner who rarely seems to date (or get the girls for that matter) wasn't up to the task. That's theory #1

#2- they're working as a team and Illya is setting her up for Napoleon to swoop in, giving way to his partner's 'experience' with the ladies. I mean two gorgeous men trying to seduce her, should have made her legs buckle.

#3 Neither is right and I haven't a clue as to why Napoleon did that. lol!

Maybe the flirtation in the first picture just happened naturally. She is a lovely looking lady, so maybe there was a slight attraction there for David.

Illya is totally flirting with the announcer lady. It's definitely in the air in that scene.

I always thought that kiss scene felt totally planned by the guys - Illya shows zero surprise or startlement. That dance was choreographed.

Why? I can't begin to fathom that. To keep Mimi off balance? I have no idea.

I always liked that actress. She does have a bit of a whiny voice, but for some reason I always liked her.

what struck me is that David looks really young in the top picture. It's almost as if it was form an ep a few years earlier :-)
