Thank you everyone for your kind comments, thoughts, vibes and prayers! They're very much appreciated!

I came home last night, exhausted. After seeing to the kitties (who were very happy to see me) I fell asleep on the sofa and woke up at 11 am this morning.

Basically what happened was that I had a sudden onset of severe pain in my left abdomen late Wednesday.  Figured I'd go to the doctor in the morning.  Pain only got worse and by 3 am I decided to go to the ER.

I quickly packed a little bag ( just in case), fed the cats, set up an extra litter box and then drove myself to the hospital (it's nearby)

Was diagnosed with a UTI and single kidney stone late afternoon and once in the ER they discovered that I had a massive kidney infection that was life threatening.  So they had to take care of the infections first.  The infections were caused by a single 8mm kidney stone blocking the urethra, a stint was put in to prevent the blockage.

Was told if I'd waited much longer, then I would have been in big trouble.

So now I have to have a second procedure to remove the stint and the kidney stone within the next two weeks. Oh joy.

Taking it easy right now, ordered not to do any lifting. I have to drink 2 liters of water per day.  Am on a potent antibiotcs, along with my regular meds.

Again, thank you ALL!

I'm so glad you're on the way to being on the mend. Put your feet up and take it easy.

I've send the blond over with some virtual flowers.

Oh my gosh! It's a good thing you made it to the hospital when you did. Take very good care of yourself -- now would be a great time for binge-watching some Man From Uncle DVDs!

I'm glad to hear you're getting better, although it sucks you'll have to go back one more time. I'll keep sending good vibes :-D

I know how it is to go to the hospital for a fairly simple procedure and then be sent home again with meds because it turned out to be not so simple after all - it was a major frustration :-(
The second procedure was indeed much, much more easy :-D

glad to see you are on the mend. The second part of the surgery is pretty simple, so hopefully you'll be able to do everything soon again.

So glad to hear this is handled - I mean, that you know what it's all about and it's getting taken care of.

Here's hoping for a safe, successful surgery! And a comfortable recovery.

Robert Vaughan would rather wait a bit longer to "see" you on the "other side" iykwim.

Please postpone joining your ancestors and previous feline companions as long as possible, okay?

Hi there, I know it's been ages but I'm back on DM at the moment :)

Sorry about all that kidney stuff. Sounds like you're lucky to catch it in time though.

All the best and I hope you get better really soon.

Hugs
