Roll Call - 4/6/20

I'm a little late getting to our Roll Call for the day.  I drive my cousin's wife to dialysis on Monday and Wednesday every week.  The center is in Bowling Green, and it gives me an opportunity to get to the grocery at least, and I shop for Betty as well.

Is anyone feeling more encouraged with anything?  I've read a few reports about decreasing numbers in NYC, and certainly the warmer days were predicted to help derail the virus itself.  I hope so, I remain optimistic about things turning around sooner than later.

Did I mention Marian's relative being tested positive?  The woman's daughter is a nurse and speculation was that she was exposed to the virus by her, which put everyone in quarantine.  Fran had pneumonia and wasn't looking good, but thankfully things did turn around and she's been given the all clear, no longer positive and by now back home.  Everyone is clear.  So, there are some good reports.

Speaking of Marian, like others she's pretty isolated.  I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in exchanging some old fashioned mail, just postcards or something simple to cheer everyone on.  Let me know if you like the idea, and we'll set up a mailing list via Messenger here on LJ.

How about a chuckle ... on me.  I was scrolling through my email and... do you ever see something but your brain interprets it all wrong?  I read the subject line that said Maintain Goals.  What I saw... Mountain Goats.  It took me a bit to realize I had it wrong, and wondered why I had an email about mountain goats.

That's funny. I actually did see a video of them the other day, they've made it into the news around the world it seems. You know what, I went back to my email and did it again, had to take a second look when my brain saw mountain goats instead of maintain goals. I must be having a mountain top goat experience!

I spoke with Marian the other day. We had a great conversation. She's in good spirits but not having the internet is definitely a drag.

Yeah, definitely she's having a little withdrawal from not being in touch. We were both wide awake last night and ended up talking until 1am my time. We should try a conference call... that'd be something!

I know it can be done on Messenger, if you're on Facebook it's sort of built in, or you can just use the app. We'll have to do something like that when Marian finds everything!
