I found the checkerboard which took me to google drive. But I still do not know how to get the created image from there to the LJ posting screen. I clicked on files, which brought me to downloads, but there was no dropdown screen after that, so I'm just freakin' stuck, I guess.
I think I'll just let you guys do the artistic stuff, since I don't want to take up any more of your time. Thanks so much for trying!
OK once you're in google drive click the Red 'create' and choose "drawing' at the bottom of the drowdown list. That will open the document for you to 'drag' the image you've chosen into the document.
Once the image is there, click on it and a blue square will appear with little blue boxes at the sides and top. Those little squares are what you drag in order to enlarge you image. You'll have to play around with it until you get it large enough, but remember it must stay within the parameters of the page.
Once your image is sized, then click on the T in your task bar on the page. Another blue box will appear and size that one to add print to your image as I explained previuously. You'll have to adjust your font size as well a choose a font and color....all in your task bar on the document page.
Just explore and play around with things until you get the hang of it.
Once your image is finished, Click outside the image so the blue boxes disappear and then you can download to a JPEG. Your finished document is stored in google docs under its title and you can go back and change it any time you want.
Just remember the previously downloaded image doesn't change, so you'll have to download the updated document each time you make a change to it.
I did all of that successfully, and was feeling pretty good. Then I tried to transfer the finished image over to LJ for posting, and THAT's what I can't figure out how to do. Alas, Illya would be tearing out his lovely golden hair by now LOL!
OK you're doihg great then! Where is the JPEG, on your desktop and did you click on it to open it? Do you have a MAC? And NO IK is a very patient man.... And seriously, I don't mind. I'm paying it forward as Glenna gave me so much help with LJ it isn't funny....
to put it more simply a jpeg is just a name for an image that you've downloaded to your desktop. You can search your desktop by the title you put on the jpeg in google docs when you downloaded on it.
Once you find the image you're looking for, just click on it. Then go to LJ and upload the image to your scrapbook. On a Mac a page will appear when you click on Browse on LJ. It'll open a page that lists the documents and images you've opened today. find the image on the list, highlight it and click open. That''ll upload it to your album and from there you can post it to your journal or where ever you want to post it.
I don't mind it at all. I figured it out all by myself just a few weeks ago and trust me, I'm not the best with computers at all. You'll get it, maybe not tonight...but you will.
