Thanks for the memories...
Dec. 26th, 2013 09:21 amThe stories were all wonderful, and the 12 Days of Christmas were made that much merrier because of them. I know people get busy and distracted, so it is especially nice to see the extra effort made to post here on Section VII during our story extravaganza. I hope all of the writers know that you have made this community a success during our two years on LJ, and that our readers continue to enjoy what we do here.
It's the day after Christmas but the festivities will continue on into the New Year with PicFic, Song Stories, Writers Choice and our special Writers Challenges. A Little Drabble Do Ya will retire this year after a fabulous run. There was talk of doing a drabble zine, something proposed by
periwinkle27 prior to her passing. ALDDY was the focus, and certainly we have added substantially to that particular segment of MFU fiction.
I want to give a shout out to my two collaborators,
mrua7 and
carabele They have been steady in their support of the comm, balancing real life with their contributions here. Marian has a photo album extraordinaire that has inspired us to churn out adventures, and I know she'll continue to amaze us and challenge our writing skills. I'm happy to report that we'll return to our original format of prompts on Monday, stories the next day. I think the 24 hour turn-around was energizing, and with the holidays past we can get back to that.
With the new movie on the horizon it is becoming more common to see the faces of that film when doing a search for MFU. We've entered a new age, one in which our IK and NS will share the stage with the new guys, and perhaps we'll start seeing new fiction based around a Russian who towers over his THRUSH opponents, and a Napoleon Solo whose trousers are not an inch shorter than we think they should be ;) No matter, we'll continue to love the men we were introduced to all of those years ago, imagine and write their exploits as we have for years, perhaps decades.
Here on Section VII the stories will continue to be in the spirit of the television show as we travel the world with Solo and Kuryakin.

Date: 2013-12-27 02:12 am (UTC)I just wanted to say that although I'm not around much anymore, I'm very glad that y'all are fanning the MFU flames just as hard as you can. The fandom is better for your efforts.
Kudos to Glenna, Mrua and carabele!
