Okay, those pajamas are rather epic.  How many stories have referenced Illya's blue pajamas?  Sometimes just run of the mill, once in a while satin or silk, those pajamas are MFU lore and pure Kuryakin bliss.
quest003
The most memorable appearance is, of course, from the Deadly Quest Affair wherein Mr. Blue Eyes is kidnapped by the mean Victor Karmac.
quest032
Obviously Mr. Karmac didn't know how intoxicatingly attractive he was making our Russian by torturing our pajama clad hero, unbuttoning his shirt in the process and creating endless attempts to catch a little bit of skin in our screencapping and oggling of the fair haired one.
quest173
Eventually Napoleon rescues his partner and in the final scenes he is the one confined to the hospital bed.  His pajamas do not have quite the same impact, however, and we are left to wonder at the miscue from the wardrobe department concerning Mr. Solo's lackluster pajamas.
quest209
So, did the writers and director take advantage of us by leaving IK in those pajamas, unbuttoning the top and teasing us with what little we could see of his much sought after chest?  Did Napoleon get the short end of the pajama stick with the ones he wore at the end? And the most important question of all: Does Illya really sleep in blue pajamas or does he sleep in the nude?
I leave it to you my friends.
As always, stories related to this episode are of interest to all of us and links are welcome, as are your thoughts on blue pajamas.

The only time I have watched MfU was first UK broadcast, and not since. But the one thing I definitely remember from then is the pajamas. Possibly because they were the same as my father wore. There were no colour broadcasts in the UK in those days, so I didn't know the colour.

And he wore pajamas, bedrooms were cold in those days.

I agree Uncle would make sure they had comfortable accommodation, but at least in the UK what is considered the normal room temperature has changed over the years.

Back when the series was made it was assumed that you would wear a jumper indoors. It was common in the winter in Europe, to wake up to find the windows covered in frost.

In the 60s the average temperature in a house was 12C (53F), now it's gone up to 18C (64F).

Hmm, in my stories Illya sleep in the nude at home, or in sweatpants. The blue pajamas are saved for the hospital and worn while on missions, unless it's a very hot locale of course.

Yes, poor Napoleon the fashion plate definitely got the short end of the pajama stick in this episode. Though I do recall another where he was dress in the ugliest mustard yellow ones.

I usually have Napoleon in grey silk jammies and robe, but he's never in the very long if there's a lady around.

And as I recall Napoleon would sometimes have his white socks on when in his jammies. What's that all about.

Napoleon got the great suits, but when it came to sleep wear it was comfort over style I think.

Illya and his blue jammies were really one of the few splashes of color they gave him, but ca-voom, oh what an impact they had... "D

Bedrooms were cold in those days, though probably warmer in the US than Europe. So cotton pajamas in the US, flannelette in Europe with bedsocks and a hot water bottle.

NS must suffer from cold feet, so needs bedsocks in the US.

So depending upon where they had their assignments would determine the PJ's and bed socks....:D

I distinctly recall buying a pair of blue cotton pj' which were the exact same color! Sigh. I agree with mrua. Hospitals, assignments etc: jammers. Napoleon got some weird outfits other than his suits. The hats were awful! And the white socks??? Really??

For some reason I suspect it was RV's idea, given his proclivity for joking around.

Here's some RV jammie color, though the blue one I think is a robe...but there's that blue.

The slide show is well done. Yummmmm. Forgot to answer your question about the writer's taking advantage of the blue pajama's and having them unbuttoned. Damn straight they did. With McCallum getting a record number of fan letters, the writers would have been stupid not to give the fans some eye candy.

Oh, dear Lord, those blue cotton pajamas are epic! Napoleon had his silk pajamas and brocade bathrobe (and white socks--dear God what were they thinking??!) but Illya's simple blue pj's are visually stunning.

Sometimes the simplest garment is the sexiest. Especially when it brings out Illya's blue, blue eyes.

Sadly, Napoleon did not fair as well in "The King Of Knaves Affair."

(And I don't care how cold that room was - there is no excuse for buttoning them all the way up.)

Which of course he's not. I have no idea what the wardrobe people were thinking...

Still, those pj's are wa-ay better than the ones he wore in "Nowhere Affair."

I'm not convinced. Ok, the diarrhoea-yellow colour was... well... dire, but at least the top button was undone.

*hugs Napoleon, whilst surreptitiously using the opportunity to undo the top button...*
