Oh my goodness, less than a week before we all get SPOOKED by the tales of the fifth and final Mood-Y challenge for 2014 here on section7mfu! Where has the time gone? Remember: posting opens on Saturday, October 25th, and runs through the following Saturday, November 1st.

Again, the mood for this fifth challenge is apropos for Halloween: SPOOKED.

So it's now time to "reveal all" regarding for the Mood-Y -- MFU:50 Special Anniversary Challenge.

Mood-Y Challenges are running as gen writing events several times this year on section7mfu. However for this Special Anniversary Edition, we are broadening the scope to include all genres! So here's the scoop on how things will shake down.

The idea behind the Mood-Y is that the writer is challenged to write an MFU story of no less than 500 words (no maximum) based on a provided "mood". There are no sign-ups. Postings are just made during the alloted timeframe. For the Special Anniversary Edition that timeframe opens on Saturday, September 13th and closes on Saturday, September 20th.

Because section7mfu is a gen site that does not run with an adult content warning, stories for the Mood-Y: Special Anniversary Edition can be posted to any site on LJ per the author's choice. All entries should then be linked to section7mfu and tagged with both the available mood-y and MFU:50 tags on the site.

Please title your post like:
Mood-Y MFU:50 -- Story name

And please use the following setup inside your linked posts:
STORY NAME: (This should include the actual link)
GENRE: (Gen, Slash, Het)
WORD COUNT: (approximation)
RATING: (Everyone, Teen, Adult)
WARNINGS: (Notations such as Strong Language, Non-consensual Sex, Graphic Violence, etc. Also please note here if the story is an AU-Alternate Universe)

Gen stories can be posted directly on section7mfu. Suggestions for posting slash stories are to post to muncle or network_command; suggestions for posting het stories are to post to mfu_map_room or network_command; suggestions for posting AU of either genre are to post to mfu_au or network_command. However, as I already noted above, authors can post their stories anywhere on LJ, including their own blogs (do remember to make the entry public if you do that though). Wherever you post, please remember to link the story back to section7mfu.

With all that said, it's time to reveal the actual mood for the challenge! And the mood for the Mood-Y -- MFU:50 Special Anniversary Challenge is... [drumroll please] ...
INVENTIVE

Inventive was something the series itself was with its depiction of a non-military-aligned worldwide peacekeeping organization, as well as that of the field team partnership of an American and a Russian during the height of the Cold War. Inventive also often described the approaches Napoleon and Illya had to take in order to complete their missions. So this is definitely a very wide-open mood subject for the challenge.

A couple of final notes:
1) Though the actual word "inventive" definitely does not need to appear anywhere in your challenge story (it just needs to describe the mood of the piece), do include the mood name in an Author's comment or note.
2) And when actually posting your story, please do remember to post the majority of it under a cut as a courtesy to readers.
