We as fanfiction writers like to utilize certain fandom wide cliches and catch phrases.  I don't know where they all originated, but I'm pretty sure most of it isn't from the series itself.
Tovarisch, in all its myriad spellings, is one that we do know Napoleon used once or twice; Terbuf and one other I think.
Illya uses the phrase 'my friend' in the Brain Killer Affair.
Partner mine...  I have no idea, but we like it anyway.
Are there others, those little words and phrases, descriptions or something we accept but can't really identify as 'canon'?
Oh, there's the Pursang and Angelique's last name.  The latter came from Linda Cornett, and Pursang possibly from [livejournal.com profile] st_crispins.
Add to the list and if you can find the source then please fill in the blanks.

I agree with you completely about 'chum' 'partner mine' and Angelique's name. The first two IMO do not accord with my view of Napoleon. I think he's more cultured than that. As to Angelique, I've never heard of that surname here in france and i really think it sounds at the best fake, and at the worst rather crude.

I've considered a few times going with a different surname for Angelique, but the La Chien misnomer is just so set in fanon stone, that in the end I just sigh and let be.

Yes I can see the problem. I've only included Angelique as a character in one short story and I think I avoided using her surname, as I suppose the TV series did. I have referred to her occasionally but I try to avoid her usually. Of course Napoleon and her are on first name terms so surnames don't usually get in the way ....
