It's Friday and time once again for the Reading Room.  I've enjoyed seeing some familiar tales from our regular contributors here on Section VII as we explore our Writers Choice selections.  Today I'm re-introducing a story from a couple of years ago (or longer, but not much) that was previously titled Wings of Angels, Prayers of Saints.  That rather audacious (and borrowed) title became burdensome as did some of the content.  I've reworked it and retitled it and... well, here it is.  You'll find it on AO3.
In it there is mystery, drama and angst a plenty; loyalty and friendship and a few ocean waves.  Head for the West Coast and enjoy.

The Russian soldier, accompanied by two other guards dragged a struggling Solo from the room and past the red-fezzed Thrushmen, with the General bellowing a deep laugh as the worn sliding doors were closed behind them.

“I must remember to get those doors repainted,” the General said with a cavalier attitude, completely dismissing the fact he had just sent the American to be tortured by Colonel Zakrov.
