Challenge # 1:

In season two, “The Project Deephole Affair” introduced us to Narcissus Darling, a THRUSH agent who has mistakenly kidnapped the wrong man, thinking that he is the geologist needed to work out a problem. However, she is no stranger to Napoleon who tells her, “You’re just as beautiful as you were four years ago in Portofino.” The challenge is: What history do the two agents share?

Question Choice: Challenge # 2:
In season two’s “The Round Table Affair,” Illya has been detained in the Ingolstein jail for a variety of crimes. To pass the time, he is reading from the Ingolstein Travel Guide to Linda, a woman in Communications. At one point she says, “Oh, Mr. Kuryakin, it sounds so romantic! I wish I were there with you” to which he answers, enthusiastically and without a hint of sarcasm, “So do I, Linda.” The challenge is: Who is Linda and what is she to Illya?

I knew he was there even before turning around. “Back from Ingolstein, are you?”

There was a chuckle and I spun around in my chair. Illya was leaning against the door frame, grinning and looking for all the world as if he’d just come back from a vacation as opposed to a thrill-packed, action affair. He straightened and entered.

“Are you sure you want to stay in Communications, Linda? You would make a great agent.”

“And leave all of this?” I gestured to the reel-to-reels that were busy spinning and stopping, spinning and stopping. It was a little like my heart at the moment. I didn’t usually come face-to-face with the agents. They were just voices to me.

He seemed to pick up on something. These guys weren’t agents for nothing.   They knew how to read people and make instant judgments… among other things. He seemed to suddenly remember something.

“I picked up a little something for you.” He held out a slender box to me and I took it slowly. I had never gotten as much as a card from an agent before. For the briefest of moments, I wanted to never open it, just cherish it.

“Illya, that is so sweet.” I carefully lifted the lid, then gasped. Lifting it free of the tissue paper, I held it up. The sword was long and sender, it blade festooned with faux jewels caught the lights and danced. The baes was a chunk of some white rock, also sparkly in the fluorescent lights “It’s lovely… it’s a weapon?”

“Napoleon...really, you and Narcissus Darling? Is it not bad enough you bed Angelique the bitch?” Illya complained.

There was little else he could do as he and Solo were ummm, a bit tied up at the moment, thanks to the likes of Narcissus. Then again the UNCLE agents considered themselves lucky to be alive considering she had a bunch of trigger happy henchmen working for her.

Napoleon and Illya had been snooping around to see what the THRUSH femme fatale was up to when...oops. They were caught in a trap. Literally that, as a cargo net dropped from a ceiling withough warning, enveloping them. It was like being caught in a spider’s web as it was coated with some sort of sticky substance.

“I know you detest Angelique, but there’s no need to refer to her that way.”

It was like a scene from a Western when Illya stepped through the door, into Overseas Communications. The sudden presence of the blond, whom most of the women secretly favoured over his partner, caused them to momentarily pause.

“Is Linda working today, Jane?” he asked the nearest woman, awkwardly ignoring the attention he was getting.

“I’m sorry, Mr Kuryakin, but she called in sick today,” Jane informed him. “To be honest, I think it’s more to do with the ticking off she received yesterday.”
