Wow, it's the last Writer's Choice for August and the Summer once the Labor Day Weekend arrives here...next weekend! Where did the time fly?

So time to post your links to stories penned by your or by your favorite authors.  Today perhaps  a summer time theme as an homage to the unoffical end to the season?

Simply post a link and give us a little blurb as to why you like the story.

You can post links to Gen stories here on

This story was written in the way back when (2014) for a PicFic; the prompt pictured below. Glennagirl takes us on a voyage that involves a cleverly named boat called the"Gayle Wend," THRUSH, a devious weather-related scheme and a not so desert island. A very enjoyable romp....well not quite for Napoleon and Illya.

This time, it is Napoleon who is under the influence of THRUSH's drugs.  The link takes you to AO3.

This coming Thursday (September already???) is the next installment of the Great Episode Challenge.  So far, I've been able to come up with questions for it, but I'm asking if you have a question you would like addressed in the future.  If you do, please PM me with it.

Thanks and happy writing!

This is a tale written for a picfic back in June of 2014, the story sort of references characters from the Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello "Beach Party" movies and of course our Men from UNCLE.

The setting is near and dear to my heart, Far Rockaway Long Island; where I was born. Though I was  pretty young when we moved away; I grew up listening to the stories my family told about the beach, the boardwalk and the jetty where my parents went 'smooching' when they were young and in love....sigh.

Our home was only 6 or so houses away from the boardwalk.  In the story I mention a pizzeria of which I have fond memories,  and of course there's Uncle Walter..."the Commodore," so named after my grandfather Walter (who was a real character all right) At one time he was the Commodore of the local boat club that he belonged to, and yes he had a big old "Jersey skiff," called the Mañana. I remember riding in the front of the boat, sitting within an open hatch while Grandpa had her at full throttle...a dangerous thing by today's boating safety standards, but hey it was the 1960's.  Somehow I was at an age before I started getting seasick...ugh.

So hope you enjoy this summer time adventure that starts out innocent enough for Napoleon and Illya, but becomes frought with dangers, especially for Kuryakin. It involves sharks, surfing, and pirates...of a sort and of course, Frankie and Annette.

Your comments here are most welcome and appreciated!

Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3

Napoleon and Illya returned downstairs and were shown to the drawing room by Cavendish.
Maude was there, having a glass of sherry, and offered the boys drinks but both men declined.

“How about a tour of the house, and Illya if you're good we can head down to the stables later on so I can introduce you to the horses.”

“Sounds good to me,”Napoleon replied.

“And to me as well,”Illya added, though the two agents had some ulterior motives regarding Kuryakin and the horses. They needed to come up with a plausible excuse to stay for more than just a few days; Maude wouldn’t care, where as husband might.

Warning - I am sorry about this, but I post this in Vintage Ads and Heather McCrillis bunnied me.

They said the wail could be heard from throughout UNCLE HQ.

Some though it might have been a ghost of a slain agent, reliving his last moments again and again.

Others though it was the scream of an enemy agent, frantic from questioning.

Still other thought it might have been a reaction of a new truth serum that the guys in the lab had been experimenting with.

There was even a whisper that someone had just received their first paycheck and saw the withholding stub.

The truth was much less exciting, but still interesting.
